Grāmata “Silver Girls. Retouched History of Baltic Photography” ir vērienīgs pētījums, kas pirmo reizi vienuviet apkopo un no jauna atklāj agrīno sieviešu fotogrāfu mantojumu Baltijā no 19. gadsimta vidus līdz Otrā pasaules kara beigām.

"Silver Girls. Retouched History of Baltic Photography" is a comprehensive research project that, for the first time, brings together and rediscovers the heritage of early female photographers in the Baltic states from the mid-19th century to the end of World War II.

The publication offers a fresh, nuanced perspective on the history of Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian photography, highlighting women's roles not only as artists but also as entrepreneurs and contributors to social and cultural processes. Through seven thematic "archive islands"—Ghosts, Nobility, Studios, Memorabilia, Artists, Sisterhood, and Destinies—the reader is introduced to the life stories and creative contributions of 21 female photographers whose work has been marginalized or forgotten for decades.
