Simona Orinska ir viena no Latvijas performances mākslas atslēgas personām, kura, attīstot šo jomu, dibinājusi festivālu “Starptelpa” un īpašu performances kursu. Paralēli sabiedriskām aktivitātēm viņa pēta sevi kā mākslinieci un sievieti, savās performancēs apvienojot Junga psihoanalīzes tēlus ar personīgiem atspulgiem. Simona ar savu piemēru cenšas atbrīvot no bailēm un aizspriedumiem, viņas performances ir hipnotizējošas un spēcīgas notikuma formas. Tā kā performances spēks ir klātbūtnē un tagadnē, to nav iespējams pilnībā iemūžināt video vai fotogrāfijās. Tāpēc šajā “Mākslas Žurnāla” numurā īpaša vieta veltīta sarunām ar Simonu, lai atklātu performances būtību un tapšanas procesu.

Simona Orinska is one of the key figures in Latvian performance art. In developing this field, she founded the “Starptelpa” festival and a dedicated performance art course. Alongside her public activities, she explores herself as an artist and as a woman, blending Jungian psychoanalytic imagery with personal reflections in her performances. Through her example, Simona seeks to liberate from fear and prejudice—her performances are hypnotic and powerful forms of events. As the power of performance lies in presence and the here and now, it cannot be fully captured in video or photography. Therefore, this issue of Mākslas Žurnāls dedicates a special space to conversations with Simona to reveal the essence and process of performance creation.
