Rosi Braidotti (b. 1954) is a prominent Italian-born Australian philosopher working in the field of social and political philosophy, who has made a significant contribution to the development of feminist and posthumanist theories.
The interpretation of the concepts of subjectivity and difference offered in her book Nomadic Subjects plays an important role in contemporary continental and feminist philosophy. The book provides insight into the continuous flux of existence and offers an alternative to the traditional understanding of identity and its accompanying social discourses.
By proposing to view the feminine through the lens of the nomadic, the author calls for an awareness of the power of multiplicity, fluidity, and difference, outlining potential pathways toward a freer and more open future.
